Feathery Friday: Wood Duck

200121_142601_chuq.jpg

In January of 2020, just prior to the pandemic lockdown, I made a trip south, partly to unplug and relax and partly to conduct some business. It allowed me to sit down with my tenants and talk about the house and helping them buy it — which happened in the last couple of months after being delayed by Covid. I was also, finally, able to visit my dad’s grave and talk to him for a while (third attempt, first time I was able to visit). And I used it as a chance to explore and bird from Morro Bay south to San Diego. I found these Wood Ducks in an area in Yorba Linda, surprisingly close to the old homestead but a location I had never visited before, and they were willing to be cooperative for a nice photo session.
