Photo Wednesday: Mule Deer

201009_143423_chuq.jpg

I was at Joseph Grant County Park staking out a bird when I realized I was being watched. This mule deer was partially hidden in the brush but watching me intently and trying to decide if I was a threat or not. It’s a younger male and you can see it’s starting to grow a set of antlers. Ultimately, I tried to not look like a threat, it decided I wasn’t one and went back to foraging, and wandered off into the brush out of sight.
