Photo Wednesday: Mr. Grumpy

Say hello to Mr. Grumpy, a Bison I saw a number of times during my 2014 trip to Yellowstone. Note this animal has lost part of his right horn; no wonder he’s grumpy and hence my name for him.

In reality, all Bison are born grumpy, and stupid people that walk up to get selfies or pet them more or less deserve the chaos that is likely. During this trip we had a group of Bison decide to change locations, using the road of course, and so I spent some time on the side of the road parked while these massive beasts walked by 15 feet or less away. How anyone could think it was safe getting anywhere near one of these majestic creatures, I don’t know…
