Feathery Friday: Red-Tailed Hawk on a Kill

191214_100552_chuq.jpg

A Red-Tailed Hawk has taken a Coot at Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge and is now enjoying a meal. This bird was maybe 15 feet away from the auto-tour route and so there was no way to keep distant from it as I approached, but it took one quick look at me and went right back to it’s meal, so I felt it was okay to stop the car and grab a few shots. I spent very little time near it, though, since I wanted it to enjoy it’s meal without distractions.
