Photo Wednesday: Face in Rock in the Fog, Bandon, Oregon

This is from a 2015 trip to Bandon Oregon where I got to spend time and photograph with a couple of online friends. I hadn’t spent much time in Bandon before then, but in a couple of days visiting there, I really fell in love with it. It’s a wonderful small coastal town with some interesting photographic potential. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.

Face in Rock is a sea stack near the shore on the outskirts of town, and I was standing up on the bluff setting up a composition for sunset when the fog rolled in, and I mean hard. I had about five minutes of crazy time between clean skies and no longer seeing the rock at all. during that time, I was able to pull this one off, which is an image I really love. This was done using ND filters for a very slow shutter speed
