Feederwatching
When I set up my office, it was to give me views out the main window, where I’ve also set up the bird feeders. This gives me the ability to both work and keep an eye on what’s happening with the feeders.
It also means I can keep the camera happy, and if something interesting or unusual appears, I can grab it and shoot a few images on the fly (so to speak). I’ve done this on and off for a few days, and I think as long as I keep the window glass clean, it’ll be a good setup for ad hoc photography. I’m considering, also, setting up some “natural” perch locations for the birds to use to on approach to the feeders where it wouldn’t be as obvious they’re visiting feeders.
Here are a few images from my first few days of feederwatching with the camera… I love that I got a shot of that baby Spotted Towhee while it was around, and in looking at them, it’s clear one of the Stellar’s Jays that’s visiting is a recent hatch as well, and that the juncos were successful at nesting nearby this year, too.
