Birds of Coyote Valley
Coyote Valley is an area to the south of urban San Jose that has been protected from development, although there always seems to be a threat to it from one of the neighboring cities. It is a significant wintering ground for raptors and other birds, and also often hosts a flock or two of the endangered Tri-Colored Blackbirds. Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve is a good place to visit and explore to see many of the avian visitors, from Golden Eagle to the resident familes of Rock Wrens.
