Feathery Friday: Great-Blue Heron

I was sitting on a bench at a local refuge when a Great Blue Heron flew in to what seemed to be a favorite fishing spot. I wasn’t until it landed maybe ten feet from me that it saw I was there, at which point it spent some time both trying to not move and hope I didn’t see it, and checking me out to see if I was a threat. After a few minutes, I very slowly slid to the other end of the bench away from it, it relaxed a bit, and then I stood up and slowly walked away.
