Feathery Friday: Dark-eyed Junco

200114_134740_chuq.jpg

Dark-eyed Juncos are one of the common birds here in Silicon Valley, found in many places exploring the ground for seeds and other tidbits. This little cutie was outside the headquarters of Santa Clara Valley Audubon at McClellan Ranch, as I was waiting to have a committee meeting — back when we had those meetings in person. Remember those?

The Audubon HQ has a nice set of feeders near the building and there are always a fun and interesting population of birds hanging around, so it’s a fun place when you have 15 minutes and a camera….
